PIA Signs Landmark Cargo Partnership With Major Saudi Airline

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a landmark cargo partnership with Saudi Arabia’s new carrier, Riyadh Air.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the collaboration will enable cargo shipments from Pakistan and London to be routed through Riyadh, where both airlines’ networks will handle onward deliveries to global destinations.

The agreement officially took effect on October 29 and aims to expand PIA’s cargo operations while boosting its revenue.

Officials described the partnership as a major milestone that aligns with PIA’s broader business strategy and addresses the growing international demand for air freight services.

Riyadh Air is a new Saudi Arabian airline established in 2023 as part of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative to diversify its economy and strengthen the aviation sector. Headquartered in Riyadh, the carrier aims to become a major global airline, connecting Saudi Arabia to more than 100 destinations by 2030.
