International Airline Increases Flights to Pakistan

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad has announced an expansion of flight operations to Pakistan, a move that strengthens air connectivity between the two nations and reduces travel time between Islamabad and Tashkent to just two hours.

An embassy official told Dawn that the introduction of direct flights has significantly shortened travel time, eliminating previous layovers in Dubai that often made the journey longer and more expensive.

Uzbekistan Airways, the national carrier of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has now doubled its flight frequency to Pakistan, operating four weekly flights — two between Tashkent and Islamabad, and two between Tashkent and Lahore.

The “Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent” flights operate every Tuesday and Saturday, while the “Tashkent–Lahore–Tashkent” route operates every Wednesday and Friday.

According to the airline, the decision to expand services came in response to strong passenger demand, with Islamabad-bound flights frequently operating at full capacity and tickets selling out several days in advance.

Flights between Islamabad and Tashkent take around two hours, offering a fast and affordable link for business, education, and leisure travelers. One-way fares start at approximately $200, while round-trip tickets are priced around $400. The same pricing applies to the Lahore–Tashkent route.
