SriLankan Airlines wins best food and beverage award at 2026 APEX awards

SriLankan Airlines has been recognized for excellence in its in-flight dining, winning the Best in Food and Beverage award for the Central/South Asia region at the 2026 APEX Awards.

The international accolade honors the airline’s diverse menu, featuring both local and international flavors. SriLankan Airlines was also rated a Four Star Major Airline, the highest rating in the global aviation industry.

The APEX Awards and Official Airline Rankings are based on over one million passenger ratings collected through the travel management app TripIt by Concur. Over 600 airlines worldwide are evaluated in five categories: in-flight comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi.

Maria Sathasivam, Product Development Manager at SriLankan Airlines, said:

“Receiving this award of excellence twice is a testament to the strong bond we have forged with our passengers. Beyond providing high-quality, healthy, and delicious food on every flight, we share the rich culinary culture of Sri Lanka. We are grateful to every traveler who supported us in this achievement.”

Passengers flying with SriLankan Airlines enjoy a constantly updated catering menu tailored to their tastes, with each destination offering unique cuisine. The airline emphasizes traditional Sri Lankan dishes, prepared with the finest local spices and ingredients, including sambols, kiribath, athurpasa, kottu, and sweets like kiri toffee, coconut toffee, sesame balls, and bibikan. Local beers are also available, showcasing the nation’s food culture alongside international options.
