Bangladesh and the United States have discussed strengthening cooperation in the aviation sector development during a meeting between Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroz Khanam and US Ambassador Brent T Christensen.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat was also present at the talks, held at the ministry’s office in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Bangladesh sought enhanced US assistance for the modernisation and capacity development of the country’s aviation sector, according to an official handout.
Ambassador Christensen reaffirmed Washington’s continued support and assured maximum cooperation with the current government in working together on shared priorities.
Both sides underscored the importance of further deepening the longstanding bilateral relationship between Dhaka and Washington, the handout added.
