Colombo, May 4 (Daily Mirror) – SriLankan Airlines has secured two major accolades in the South Asia category at the PAX International Readership Awards 2026 held recently in Hamburg, Germany.
The airline was recognised for Best Overall Passenger Experience and Most Improved Airline, with winners selected through votes cast by PAX’s global readership.
The Best Overall Passenger Experience award acknowledges airlines that deliver exceptional onboard services across key areas such as meal service, inflight entertainment and seating.
SriLankan Airlines said the achievement reflects its comprehensive approach to enhancing every stage of the passenger journey through coordinated team efforts and continuous service improvements.
Maria Sathasivam, Manager Product Development at SriLankan Airlines, said the recognition serves as an independent endorsement of the airline’s service standards.
“We are incredibly honoured to receive yet another independent endorsement of the service we deliver. Every interaction matters to us, and we are committed to consistently meeting and exceeding passenger expectations,” she said.
The airline has continued to invest in improving its end-to-end travel experience, including digital upgrades to its website and mobile app aimed at providing a more seamless and intuitive customer journey. At its hub, Bandaranaike International Airport, expanded self-check-in and bag drop facilities have also been introduced to enhance passenger convenience.
Onboard, the airline highlights its signature Sri Lankan hospitality delivered by its cabin crew, alongside an inflight dining experience that blends international cuisine with locally inspired dishes, including a signature Sri Lankan meal option.
Passengers also benefit from an extensive inflight entertainment system, featuring a wide selection of movies, regional content and music, accessible via seatback screens and wireless streaming on select aircraft.
SriLankan Airlines currently connects passengers to 120 destinations across 61 countries, including through codeshare partnerships, with direct services spanning Europe, Australia, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia and the Far East. The airline operates an all-Airbus fleet, including A330-200/300 and A320/321 aircraft.
