International Airline Launches Flights to Another Pakistani City

Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air has launched regular direct flights between Tashkent and Karachi, further expanding air connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and creating new opportunities for tourism, trade, business and people-to-people contacts.

The first flight from Tashkent arrived at Karachi Airport at 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, carrying passengers aboard an Airbus A320. Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtaev received the inaugural flight.

The aircraft received a traditional water-cannon salute upon arrival. A welcoming ceremony also brought together representatives of the Sindh government and local authorities, diplomatic corps, Sindh Tourism Development Corporation, airlines, tour operators and the media.

Sindh government representatives welcomed the new service, saying improved air connectivity could increase tourist flows, strengthen business-to-business links and facilitate greater interaction between the two countries’ business communities.

The new route will also make travel easier for businessmen, investors, tourists, students and families, while giving Pakistani travelers greater access to Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region.

With the launch of the Tashkent-Karachi service, direct flights between Pakistan and Uzbekistan have increased to eight per week, further strengthening connectivity and supporting tourism, trade and economic cooperation. Centrum Air had earlier launched direct Lahore-Tashkent flights in April 2026, with the service operating twice weekly.
