Cabinet approval has been granted to award the contract for providing global network infrastructure services to SriLankan Airlines Limited to SITA Switzerland SARL for a period of five years.
The contract will cover the period from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2031, and is intended to provide a secure, resilient and efficient global network infrastructure platform for the airline’s critical operations.
The network is required to interconnect key systems involved in air travel, including passenger services, departure control, ticketing and reservations, cargo management and airport terminal operations.
The contract was put out for International Competitive Bidding following the expiry of the existing service agreement. Only one bid was received in response to the tender.
Based on the recommendation of the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee, Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation to award the contract to SITA Switzerland SARL, the sole bidder that substantially met the requirements.
